On December 6, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin met with Director-General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Qu Dongyu at the FAO headquarters in Rome.

The officials focused on Russia’s current cooperation with the FAO.

Qu Dongyu said he was satisfied with the consistent development of cooperation with Russia and expressed hope that their joint project activities would expand.

Sergey Vershinin noted the FAO’s important role in international efforts to fight hunger, its commitment to continue mutually beneficial cooperation and its readiness for dialogue, including on preparations for the UN Food Systems Summit in 2021.
