On December 6, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin met with UN World Food Programme (WFP) Executive Director David Beasley at the WFP headquarters in Rome.

The officials focused on Russia’s current cooperation with the WFP to render urgent food aid to countries hit by disasters and armed conflicts and to promote international development. They also coordinated their positions on the humanitarian situation in Syria, Yemen, North Korea and Venezuela.
