On June 12, 2020, a festive buffet reception was held at the Permanent Mission of Russia to the FAO and other UN Agencies in Rome, dedicated to the Day of Russia. А number of Russian employees of the secretariats of the Rome Based Agencies attended the event.

The participants performed the National Anthem of the Russian Federation. Permanent Representative Victor L Vasiliev delivered his welcoming speech. He particularly noted the congratulatory addresses of the FAO Director General Qu Dongyu (PRC) dedicated to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, testifying to the strengthening of the role of our country in the international arena and contribution to the activities of the Rome Based UN Agencies.

 The reception was held in a warm, friendly atmosphere accompanied by the songs of popular Soviet and Russian performers.
