With the deepest sorrow we inform of the passing away of Alexander V. Gorban, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to FAO and other UN Agencies in Rome, on 06 October 2017.

He devoted his life to the professorial and academic activities in the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and to the diplomatic service, having worked for over 40 years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We’ve lost a diplomat with a capital D, a talented negotiator, a gifted leader, a kind and sympathetic person.

We express our deep and sincere condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased. The fond memory of Alexander V. Gorban, an outstanding personality and diplomat, will always remain in our hearts.
